The Nottingham Credit Union has recently merged with the Lincolnshire Credit Union to form the Notts & Lincs Credit Union. 

Due to the financial impacts of the Covid-19 crisis, a Credit Union is more relevant and more needed than ever before, that is why NCVS is shining a spotlight on the support Notts & Lincs Credit Union can provide to local residents.

We have sadly waved goodbye to our fantastic PA and Office Administrator Lucy Fisher, who has left NCVS to embark on a new chapter of her career.

Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) has been commissioned by the Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) which is working in partnership with the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), to undertake a joint strategic community assets assessment to build a comprehensive picture of assets in communities affected by serious violence.

Emmanuel House Support Centre has launched a Harvest Appeal 2020 to help provide, healthy nutritious food for its night-shelter service users.

Here at the NCVS Volunteer Centre, we're keen to encourage Leaders of Volunteers to harness young people's desire to help and give back to their communities by considering how they can get involved in your upcoming volunteering programmes or short/longterm projects.

The pandemic hasn't gone away but now that lockdown has eased, I am seeing a real determination from many Leaders of Volunteers to re-engage with their volunteers and harness the enormous amount of goodwill towards volunteers and volunteering that has come about as a result of the outbreak.

A short documentary has been released by Nottingham City Council which explores the question of what comes next for community spirit in Nottingham.



A silver lining of the pandemic has been the community response and effort of Nottingham's neighbours, faith, community and voluntary groups in helping others through this difficult time. However, as lockdown eases and the government's shielding measures come to an end, people may be asking themselves what comes next.

Here at NCVS, we are passionate about volunteering and we constantly promote the benefits of volunteering. When we see that support workers are also suggesting volunteering to the people that they are supporting, we get really excited.

So if you have a support worker or if you are a support worker, you may be interested to know more about how the Volunteer Centre at NCVS can help you. I would be very interested to have feedback from Leaders of Volunteers as well.

By signing a new civic agreement, Nottingham's universities have pledged to work with city partners to improve the lives of local people across the city and county.

The Universities for Nottingham Civic Agreement has been developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is a first of its kind in the country!
