The session was facilitated by Eleanor Rawson, Anthony Bernard, and Lilian Nleya from Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This webinar gave a basic overview of what services sit under Secondary Adult Mental Health. With a greater focus on the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services, the session provided an overview of what is psychosis, the journey through EIP from referral through to treatment and discharge.
This includes:
- What is psychosis / drug induced psychosis
- How to support someone who is experiencing psychosis
- How to refer in and how referrals are processed
- What does an EIP service provide and offer
- Inclusion & exclusion criteria
- The different professionals that make up EIP services
- What interventions are offered.
Presenters:
- Anthony Bernard has worked in Mental Health settings for around 31 years, this includes Inpatient Psychiatric Units, and within the Community. Anthony has been with Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) since it was first commissioned as a service in Nottingham where his main role is Family Interventions/Carers Support/Behaviour Family Therapy.
- Eleanor Rawson is a mental health nurse by background and working in the role as Clinical Team Leader at the Early Intervention in Psychosis community team, at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Eleanor has experience of working in male and female inpatient services on acute wards, and inpatient drug / alcohol detox wards in Sheffield and Nottingham. From here worked as a CPN in EIP services in Notts HC and progressed to working as the Clinical Team Leader, for the EIP South Nottingham service where she has worked for the past 4 years.
- Lilian Nleya is registered mental health nurse qualified 2008 and currently working as Community Psychiatric Nurse and Care Coordinator with the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for the past 3yrs. Lilian has experience working in Forensic Women Services, Adult inpatient, Clinical Access Line (Telephone Triage) and Crisis teams within the NottcHC and Agency around Derby mental health services. She also has experience in non-clinical roles, volunteering and working with asylum seekers, refugees and ex-offenders in Nottingham.
