Support for groups based in Broxtowe Borough
For many years, Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) has been supporting Nottingham’s community and voluntary groups in all sorts of different ways to strengthen and develop their work. We are pleased to announce that for a short term period we can provide a variety of free support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations based and delivering services in the geographical area of Broxtowe Borough.
This support is funded by Broxtowe Borough Council as part of its UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) and is available from NCVS up to 31 March 2025.

Support from NCVS includes:
- Access to NCVS's Training and Development Programme, a variety of training courses that NCVS delivers online to help you run your organisation and manage volunteers. Free for 2025/26 as part of our 150th birthday celebrations. View and register for our core training and development programme.
- You are also welcome to promote volunteer opportunities through our NCVS searchable database. Read more on our Looking for Volunteers page, where you can find a range of support for Leaders of Volunteers.
- Broxtowe groups that are working with people facing multiple disadvantage will be invited to take part in the Practice Development Unit which hosts a range of free resources, training and e-learning on topics such as trauma informed care and psychologically informed environments.

Rob Bryant, Neighbourhood Coordinator, Nottinghamshire County Council -
The value of the support Helen has brought to community projects across Broxtowe over the past year is both evident and deeply appreciated. Her expertise, particularly in governance and community development, has been a vital asset to many local groups. It has been a real pleasure to connect organisations with Helen, knowing they will benefit from her approachable style, practical guidance, and wealth of experience.
What makes Helen’s contribution especially effective is how seamlessly her work complements the existing support available within the Community and Voluntary Sector. Her collaborative approach strengthens local networks rather than duplicating efforts, and this has been widely acknowledged by the positive feedback received from groups she’s worked with.
Helen's involvement has empowered many organisations to grow in confidence and capability, and her support has made a real difference to the sustainability and impact of their work.
