Join the City Arts team for a virtual coffee and an online chat about music and Dementia.
Online via Zoom
City Art's Artists’ Coffee Mornings are a place to meet with fellow artists and communities of interest to share insights and advice.
This month the meeting will explore music and Dementia. City Arts will be joined by artist Jenny Hibberd, music tutor James Sykes and programmer Andrew Johnston for the session. The session will also include a talk from Professor Tom Dening, who led the ORCHARD study.
City Arts has been supporting their Silent Orchestra project. Inspired by a series of workshops with care home residents, the team created a set of multi-sensory musical instruments for people living with Dementia. Silent Orchestra stems from ORCHARD, a research project by the Institute of Mental Health. It looks at the challenges care home residents have with hearing loss and Dementia.
There will be a chance to ask questions and share your thoughts during the event.
