This CPD-accredited course is designed to enhance knowledge, understanding and practice around children and young people's suicide and self harm.
Live online via Zoom
This evidence-based, Level 2 (intermediate), CPD-accredited course is designed to improve working practice, knowledge and skills by exploring the key issues associated with self harm and suicidality in children and young people, looking at national and local policy, best practice, guidance, and brief interventions for working with young people at risk of self harm and suicide, improving skills to identify and assess for risk, and identifying ways to reduce stigma and discrimination.
The course uses a variety of interactive tools to build delegates' confidence in responding to young people who harm themselves, by understanding the influences and impact on the health, recovery and wellbeing of those who self harm and may be at risk of suicide.
Level 2 (intermediate) training is suitable for professionals including frontline community staff whose role involves supporting young people (of any age). These professionals may come into contact with those in distress or with mental ill health, but this is not their primary role, e.g. housing support, teaching staff, community support workers.
