This online training, delivered across two (two-hour) sessions, will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become the meeting chairperson you want to be. Your booking will automatically register you for both sessions on 15 and 22 May 2024.

Who is this training for?
Anyone from a charity or community group who’d like to improve their skills and confidence in chairing meetings, particularly trustees (or board members/committee members) who are new to their role as chairperson. If you lack the confidence to “lead” a meeting, and/or have little to no experience doing so, this training is for you.
What will I learn from this training?
This training will be delivered across two (two-hour) sessions, which you're required to attend both of.
After attending Session 1, you’ll:
- Understand the basics of chairing meetings
- Have identified what you find difficult when chairing a meeting
- Have found methods to challenge the difficulties you have
After attending Session 2, you’ll:
- Have practiced chairing a meeting
- Have received constructive feedback from your peers to learn from
- Have improved your awareness, knowledge, skills and confidence in chairing
You’ll be issued a certificate of attendance following the completion of both sessions.

David Saunders, Group Development Officer (Training) at NCVS, who has been delivering training and support to VCSE sector groups and organisations for over 15 years.
How will this training be delivered?
This training will be delivered online via Zoom, across two (two-hour) sessions taking place on:
- Wednesday 15 May 2024, 10:30am to 12:30pm
- Wednesday 22 May 2024, 10:30am to 12:30pm
You're required to attend both sessions.
It’ll be interactive and may use various tools and training methods, which the trainer will support you with using. To get the most out of this training, please make sure you have a stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet space to join us from.
