The webinar brings together the learning from research into a range of local, regional and national Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs) relating to institutional discharge. There are three main areas of learning:
- Policy/pathway/procedure change
- Examples of good practice
- Tips for front line practitioners
This webinar will focus mainly on the last two areas and will use the SARs as case examples to demonstrate the negative impact of poor, uncoordinated discharge but also the positive impact when things are done well. It is hoped that the learning from these case examples will provide you with some insights that you can bring into your own practice and share with your teams.
The webinar will also bring in some of the relevant learning from the 2nd National SAR Analysis undertaken by Professor Michael Preston-Shoot - Second national analysis of Safeguarding Adult Reviews: April 2019 - March 2023.
Although not all the cases feature individuals experiencing Severe and Multiple Disadvantage, the learning will be very much applicable to this group of people and will hopefully help you to support them.
The webinar will last around an hour, including some time for questions.
