Purpose of Role:
Love chatting to new people? Come and join our front of shop team welcoming and telling our customers about the new safety measures.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is an exciting new role that will provide much valued support to our Shop Teams as we start to reopen after lockdown! We’re looking for someone who is friendly and loves having a chat. Post lockdown, the world of retail and charity retail has had to evolve and we are currently having to manage how many customers we can allow in to our shops at any one time. We know that our shops continue to be wonderful treasure troves so will attract lots of customers, supporters and donors. What we’d like you to do is welcome our customers and help them follow our social distancing measures in a friendly, safe and encouraging way – a little bit like a Lollipop Person!
On some days this might mean chatting to people as they form a queue outside, on other days it might involve pointing out the hand sanitiser as they enter and thanking customers for their donations. This is a very customer focussed role that you can really bring your own personality to and it’s a great way to meet people in the local community!
Working alongside our fantastic Volunteer Team you will be the first person our customers meet – so your enthusiasm and friendliness will be hugely important in creating a great reputation for the Shop in the local community. You will be provided with training and ongoing support (including PPE) and will have access to the latest campaign and charity news via our internal volunteering website.
Ideally we are looking for someone who can commit to a regular morning or afternoon shift per week.
Due to this role being very customer focused we are currently not able to offer this opportunity to anyone who identifies as being on the Extremely Clinically Vulnerable or Vulnerable category. Link to government's latest clinical to government's latest clinical guidance.
If you are over 18 years old and fancy a new challenge that will make a real difference to the smooth operation of your local shop then please click ‘Apply’ to complete an application.
