Purpose of Role:

Help out at one of our public events in the beautiful Community Gardens

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Here at AMCGardens we have several public events each year. These events are for the Meadows and wider community of Nottingham to come together in the beautiful Gardens setting and enjoy music, food and activities. Volunteers will work with Gardens' staff and other volunteers to help set up for the event (on the actual day, which is always a Saturday and also in the days leading up to the event.) Set up involves tasks like putting up gazebos, laying out stalls, tables and chairs, putting up signage, hanging up lots of bunting, general tidying of the site and helping make sure it is accessible and safe for the hundreds of visitors who come to these events.
Help is also needed on the day with things like serving refreshments, collecting used cups and plates, washing up.
Then after the event packing down of gazebos and putting everything away.
The events are always great fun and volunteers on the day will get vouchers for free food and refreshments.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Volunteers need to be able to take instruction and carry out the task to the best of their ability.
