Purpose of Role:
This flexible opportunity is to become part of a very successful charity that distributes gifts to hundreds of children and young people at various times each year. Obviously, Christmas is a very important time for them.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are a very small charity with a small trustee board and we are actively looking for more trustees to widen our areas of expertise and provide diversity in our management structure.

As the charity grows the Board, members recognise that we need to recruit more volunteers and trustees with specific skills and expertise to facilitate our growth and sustainability.

A trustee is an important role and by joining us, you will be become jointly responsible for:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. To ensure that Bags of Blessings complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
2. To ensure that Bags of Blessings pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.
3. To ensure Bags of Blessings applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects.
4. To contribute actively to the Board’s role in giving firm strategic direction to Bags of Blessings, setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets, and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
5. To safeguard the reputation and values of Bags of Blessings
6. To ensure the effective and efficient administration of Bags of Blessings
7. To ensure the financial stability of Bags of Blessings
8. To protect and manage the property of Bags of Blessings and to ensure the proper investment of the charity funds.
9. Scrutinise Board papers
10. Participate in discussions as appropriate
11. Providing guidance on new initiatives
12. Other issues in which the member has special expertise.
13. Representing Bags of Blessings at functions, meetings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
We have identified some of the skills where we could do with some help, but if you have any skills that will help us to put collection boxes in local schools, churches, and businesses, with the request for small, pocket money toys, stationery, books, or items of confectionery. We then sort the donations into age groups, gift wrap each item and put 4 or 5 gifts into a red cotton bag to be distributed to young people aged 0-16, you will be welcome.
