Purpose of Role:
Volunteer Donations Manager needed for clothing and food donations at a charity helping feed those experiencing homelessness, insecure housing or food poverty. We need your organisational skills! Join our friendly team as we help those most in need in Nottingham.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We would like to recruit a volunteer to help manage our clothing and food donations for 2 days per week ideally (or a job share). You would be responsible for sorting donated clothing into that we can use, donate further, sell on eBay/Vinted or sell as rags. You might need to wash some clothing if needed. We would want you to order clothing into sizes and types so that they are easy to find when we need them. You would also need to sort food donations out and put them into the shed, dated and with some stock rotation. You might get to a stage that you want to recruit other volunteers to help you. This is a really good opportunity for someone wanting charity work experience, work experience with volunteers or gaining experience of stock management. We can help to train you in all of this. Its also a great opportunity to be part of a friendly team helping people most in need in Nottingham.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You will need organisational skills, a desire to help those most in need, an eye for neatness and order, reliability. On the job, you can learn how to manage stock so that it is available when needed and how to sell items on eBay/Vinted or as rags. You will learn how a small charity is run and what a difference donations can make.

Unfortunately the building we are in is old and inaccessible for wheelchair users. The clothing donation area is up a flight of stairs and the shed for food is outside and awkward to get to.
