Purpose of Role:
The Social Media Volunteer for Men in Sheds will create inspirational content for social media to raise the profile of the Men in Sheds and attract new members, generate new projects and commissions.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Department: Men in Sheds
Role Location: Either at the Men in Sheds Blidworth (Unit 4, Boundary Court, Gilbert Way, Burma Road Industrial Estate, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire, NG21 0RT) or the Men in Sheds at Worksop (Unit 2, Kilton Terrace, Kilton Road, Nottingham, S80 2DQ) and remotely.
Role Support: You will be supported by the Coordinator of the Men in Sheds
What is the purpose of this role?
To support the team at the Men in Sheds to create and upload inspirational content for Age UK Notts (AUNN) social media channels (Meta & Viva Engage etc) about the products made, and the sessions and services offered by the Men in Sheds at Blidworth & Worksop.
What impact does this role have?
Creating inspirational content for social media will raise the profile of the Men in Sheds and attract new members, generate new projects and commissions.
What activities might you be involved in?
• Creating and uploading inspirational content to AUNN social media channels
• Creating articles, stories, and information about the products and services offered by the Men in Sheds.
• Responding on behalf of the charity to questions raised on the Men in Sheds social media platforms
• Volunteering within the charity’s policies and procedures and adhering to the volunteering code of conduct
When would you be needed to volunteer?
The needs of the role and your availability will be discussed at interview.
What training will you be given?
You will be given an induction to Men in Sheds and an opportunity to spend some time with key members of staff, volunteers and members to gain a full understanding of the sheds and the range of projects and items made at the sheds and any challenges currently faced.
