Purpose of Role:
We are looking for friendly out-going volunteers to help people regain independence following a stay in hospital. Our volunteers provide safe and well telephone support calls or home visits for up to 6 weeks.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for friendly out-going volunteers to help people regain independence following a stay in hospital. This may include providing safe and well support calls or befriending visits to ensure people, who have little or no support network, are comfortable and safe in their home following a stay in hospital.

Support Coordinators, based in Bassetlaw, Kings Mill and Queens Medical Hospitals, will match volunteers to people based on their availability and locality. Volunteers can give as little as one hour per week to the service and travel expenses are paid at 45p per mile.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
If you enjoy meeting people and helping the local community you are the ideal person to volunteer for our new service. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and apply our Equal Opportunities Policy to all volunteers and staff members.
