Purpose of Role:
We are a busy peer support group for carers and people living with dementia. Our popularity is making the group difficult to manage so we are looking for a variety of support volunteers to enable it to continue - this could be setting up the meeting room, help with fundraising, or planning events.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We would welcome volunteers who can help with any of the following:

• Erecting and putting away tables and chairs for our meetings, vacuum carpet, put games away etc.
• Planning events and trips out several times a year to places of interest, such as museums, theatres, garden centres etc. Usually for around 60 people including one or two with wheelchairs.
• Fundraising, for example organising raffles, tombolas etc.

Meetings take place at Westdale Lane Baptist Church NG3 6ES on every third Thursday of the month from 9.45am to 12.35pm.

This is an opportunity to meet new people and be part of a busy and fun group. You will be enabling a vital peer support group to continue supporting each other.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for a variety of support, so whether you are a people person or someone who prefers to be behind the scenes, we would be very grateful to have you join us.

We have the relevant policies and procedures in place to try to offer the best volunteering experience for you. Depending on the activity you are supporting, a DBS check may be required.
