Purpose of Role:
Children and young people have been affected by the pandemic just as much as older people. As an adult leader, your support can help them to overcome barriers, develop skills and increase their confidence and self esteem. Join us and help to give young people skills for life.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a volunteer with our Scout Group, you will find that the roles are so varied and flexible. So you could be supporting and working directly with young people or in more a background role but it’s all about giving young people skills for life.
Scouting is taught using the Scout method, which incorporates an informal educational system that emphasizes practical activities in the outdoors. In our group, programs exist for Scouts ranging in age from 6 to 14 and program specifics target Scouts in a manner appropriate to their age.
In the Meadows area of Nottingham, we are looking for tea makers, drivers, runners of games, lookers after equipment, leaders for outdoor activities, teachers of skills (ironing, sewing, wood work, carving, crafts, art etc. etc.) and lots more.
These roles will require a DBS disclosure.

No particular skills are required, but your life experience will shape your own volunteer role
Training in Safeguarding, Safety and First Aid and GDPR are mandatory for adult volunteers and is provided free of charge.
