Purpose of Role:
This important specialist role is to support Oxjam Beeston when, on Saturday 5 October 2024, Beeston becomes one large Music Festival with a range of pubs, cafes and community venues hosting music from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Sound Engineer – you will have some experience in running a sound desk, to the extent that you can work from the technical specification of the artists, which will be provided by the production team for every venue. If you're able to provide any sound equipment, please let us know.
HOW LONG WILL I BE NEEDED?
We ask volunteers to commit to a 3 hour time slot as a minimum which allows you to enjoy the rest of the festival with your free wristband. Some volunteers choose to do more than one shift, which is great! If that's you, please let us know when completing the form.
Due to the nature of organising such a large event, the programme will only be finalised the week or so before, but we will let you know your assigned timeslot as soon as we can.
WILL I GET TRAINING?
Yes! There will be a training session for you to attend shortly before the Oxjam Day. You’ll also be given some form of ID to ensure the public know its an official event.
To coordinate Oxjam Day the Oxjam Beeston Team operate from a central hub taking responsibility for ALL aspects of the day. This includes ensuring all volunteers know what is expected of them and dealing with any queries. The Volunteer Team will be on hand all day to to meet you when you arrive, provide any equipment and confirm when/where we need you.
ABOUT OXJAM BEESTON
Oxjam Beeston Music Festival has been running since 2011 and we have raised over £200,000 for OXFAM!
We also support local charities and this year we will be giving 25% of our proceeds to two charities - Middle Street Resource Centre and Hope Nottingham.
Well over 1,000 artists and bands have performed at Oxjam Beeston for free.

Live sound skills and experience are the key to this role as well as your time, a willingness to be flexible and approachable. A little local knowledge also really helps so you can find the venues and signpost festival goers.
