This is a fantastic opportunity to support and encourage local young people to enjoy the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge activities in libraries across Nottingham.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is a fantastic opportunity to support and encourage local young people to enjoy the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge activities in libraries across Nottingham.

For this year’s Challenge, the theme is ‘Story Garden’. We challenge all children to read at least 6 books over the holidays, giving out stickers along the way. There are lots of different activities to get involved with, with something happening at every Nottingham City library throughout August.

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy engaging with children and families. You will have a chance to help with general activities such as arts & crafts, and there is also an opportunity to read stories to children at some of our library locations.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Enjoy working with and able to relate to children and young people
Enthusiastic, patient, and willing to work with children of all backgrounds
Friendly and reliable
Positive attitude to libraries and able to promote the importance of reading
Commitment to a minimum of 2 sessions in August
