Purpose of Role:

Set in beautiful and unique surroundings, the Canalside Heritage Centre in Beeston is looking for friendly, helpful, vibrant and passionate volunteers to welcome visitors and guide them on fascinating heritage walks in the local area.

Role Description:

Are you a real people person, able to welcome and enthuse, listen and help? Do you love variety and being busy? Would you like to make a difference? Join our team and welcome visitors to our Heritage Centre.

Volunteer Walk Leaders are trained to assist in:

Welcoming visitors to the area and answering visitor enquiries.
Using the appropriate agreed planned themed walk to safely take visitors around the area.
Working as part of a team to develop themed walks, developing knowledge and skills.
Engaging visitors in an entertaining way, sharing knowledge without lecturing.
Ability to entertain and keep visitors interested.

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of Health and safety.
Interests in many aspects of history.
Excellent group management skills.
