Purpose of Role:
Volunteers are hugely important to our work on the high street where we raise the profile of Rainbows, sell products and generate essential money to support the work of the hospice. As a shop volunteer you are part of a team who are the friendly voice and welcoming face of Rainbows for shoppers and visitors to our shops.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Without retail store volunteers we could not have our shops!

Volunteers are hugely important to our work on the high street where we raise the profile of Rainbows, sell products and generate essential money to support the work of the hospice. As a shop volunteer you are part of a team who are the friendly voice and welcoming face of Rainbows for shoppers and visitors to our shops.

Our retail shops are open 7 days a week (timings vary per shop) and we offer flexible volunteer shifts to all with options including: 1-hour shift, half a day and more.

Typical tasks the role could involve:
- Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere
- Be a gift aid guru
- Showcase our treasures
- Get creative with displays
- Transform donated items into treasures
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

You don’t need retail experience - just the ability of good communication, a willingness to dive into tasks and passion for being part of a fun-loving team.

The Beeston shop is over two levels. The shop floor, till and sorting room are on the ground floor. However, the staff kitchen, toilets and storage areas are up one flight of stairs.
