Purpose of Role:
Join our band of volunteers carrying out practical conservation tasks on the many wildlife habitats within the 650 acres of Bestwood Country Park.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Bestwood Country Park is a fascinating remnant of Sherwood Forest, set in approx 650 acres with a mixed range of habitats. Notts County Council (NCC) run a conservation task day there on most Thursdays. Tasks have included tree planting, hedgelaying and heathland creation, all carried out in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Sessions offer the ideal opportunity to make friends and learn new skills whilst improving your local environment.
The tasks will cover a range of conservation work with a particular emphasis on conservation management & improving biodiversity
Wear weather-appropriate clothing & footwear (gloves & any tools needed will be provided) & bring a packed lunch & a sense of humour!
