Purpose of Role:
2 Outgoing Quiz compilers/Hosts needed on Tuesday or Thursday mornings to run a fun quiz session approximately an hour and a half with our service users.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Here at Holme Lodge, we are a warm and welcoming community as well as being a fun environment. We are looking for two volunteers who would enjoy organising and running quizzes. We are a residential Home for adults with physical disabilities. Our service users really enjoy quizzes and would like to have a regular quiz morning. We are looking for volunteers who share this interest and can make this a fun session. We have quizzes that can be used, though volunteers can bring their own if they wish.
This will be a morning session on a Tuesday or Thursday and will run for approximately an hour and a half starting at 11 am. We are looking for volunteers who are outgoing, with good communication skills and who will enjoy getting to know our service users We are a friendly community of staff and service users. You will have a warm welcome and make new friends. As part of our volunteer team you will be invited to all our events.
Volunteers are important to us and Leonard Cheshire is committed to training and supporting volunteers. We provide a volunteer Induction, regular ongoing support as well as out of pocket expenses. We will need a DBS and two references. Interested? Come and meet us, and have an informal chat.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: Understanding of disabilities. Good communication skills. Outgoing personality. Reliable, patient, and great sense of humour. Desirable: Someone interested in researching and compiling quizzes suitable for our service users. There’s lots to learn in this role: deepening your understanding of disabilities; gain an awareness of the impact of these on people’s lives. We offer training which would add value to your CV.
