Purpose of Role:
Support service users with mental health crises to begin their recovery and work on coping strategies to avoid future difficulties. Spend your evenings and/or weekends doing fun activities and using your skills whilst developing your experience.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Haven House is a seven-day-stay mental health crisis service in Nottingham. We work with people from all walks of life when they are at their lowest ebb. Finding ways to support, inspire and encourage them to get through what feels like life's insurmountable difficulties.
We are looking for compassionate, creative and resilient volunteers to come and spend a few hours in the evening and or at weekends to support the work of the staff steam. You might be taking someone out for a walk, playing board games, doing craft activities, whatever particular skill you have to share.
In return, you will receive any out-of-pocket expenses, access to free training and experience of working with people with acute and diverse mental health challenges. This is a perfect opportunity to gain work experience in this field. We actively encourage volunteers with a lived experience of mental health difficulties.
