Role Description:
As Lead Volunteer, you will be required to take on the responsibility of the day to day running of the shop in the absence of the management team.
You will receive an enhanced level of training enabling you to take on additional levels of responsibility. This training will be both face to face and through eLearning.

We can reimburse your reasonable local travel expenses for shifts of over 4 hours and we will be able to provide a reference to prospective employers.
We offer NVQs in Customer Service, Retail, Warehouse and Team Leading.

The shop is open from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Saturday
Skills and Qualifications:
You need to be the type of person who is:
confident to take on additional responsibility on an ad hoc basis
someone who naturally likes to take the lead and happy to make decisions
part of the team, open to direction and someone who follows process
a good communicator who can work with teams of mixed abilities
excellent at dealing with customers
able to take direction
willing to attend training sessions and stay up to date and compliant with Sue Ryder ways of working.
Experience
The Lead Volunteer Programme is ideal for someone who already volunteers with us and is looking to take on additional responsibilities; you may have previous retail experience or be someone who is looking to develop their skills in order to find paid work - possibly with us
