Purpose of Role:
We induct residents into the thinking, feeling and judgement basis required to live in this way. They are coming into a self established peer culture that is nurtured and maintained by staff.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Studio House are currently recruiting Support Workers to work alongside our project workers and supporting them in the day-to-day running of our service. Generally speaking, this will include supporting project workers in group settings, some administrative duties and working with our residents in a professional and positive way. On a practical level you may, for example, be asked to take residents to appointments, go out with residents on activities or support residents with their emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Some experience and a relevant qualification is desirable but not essential as training will be given. There is an expectation that you will work within our policies and procedures as well as within current, relevant legislation. You will be able to build appropriate and professional relationships with our service users.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You will be a confident and reliable individual who has an understanding of drug and alcohol addiction and the issues that come with this. You will be a non-judgemental individual, approachable and able to work with people from all walks of life. A relevant qualification and experience is desirable but not essential as training and support will be given. However, there is an expectation that you will have an understanding of the importance of professionalism, boundaries and working within policies and procedures.
