Purpose of Role:
The cafe is a very busy environment which operates as a training kitchen as well as a facility for our visitors and staff to enjoy home cooked food. Café volunteers are needed to serve refreshments to volunteers, staff and visitors.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The cafe is a very busy environment which operates as a training kitchen as well as a facility for our visitors and staff to enjoy a home cooked breakfast and lunch, drinks and cakes. Café volunteers are needed to serve refreshments to volunteers, staff and visitors. All aspects of catering from waitressing all the way up to learning the skills for the daily running, rules and procedures of the kitchen including the implementation and observance of health and safety and food hygiene, establishing and monitoring preparation and cooking of menu dishes, receiving orders and prompt execution of the delivery of the order.
The roles are very versatile whether you want to gain experience with front of house, till work and table service. Or, you might help with the safe delivery of breakfast and lunch service, buffets, pizza oven, cakes etc..
This is an ideal opportunity if you want to make new friends, to develop your skills and experience in a catering environment and contribute to the work of the charity by enriching the lives of people....
You’ll need to have a friendly personality and good communication and listening skills.
Training will be provided.
We can help in both improving in many areas especially in intuitive cooking and using available ingredients in order to produce a dish. Knowledge and confidence in preparing a dish has increased.
