Purpose of Role:
To assist, and be responsible to, the Look Inside Centre manager in providing high quality play services
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
To assist and be responsible to the Look Inside Centre manager in providing high quality play services

Main duties
* To be involved in supporting the planning and reviewing of activities with regard to the service and the needs of individual children and young people.
* To assist supervising of children and young people in organised play/mentor activities at the centre or in learning environments.
* To ensure the safety and welfare of the children and young people using the service.
* To support in the collection of children and young people where agreed in advance.
* To assist in the completion of registration, collection and recording of fees and to complete reports as required.
* To liaise with parents/carers, staff and agencies as required.
* To be involved in supervision, staff meetings and training as appropriate.
* To assist in the planning and development of Look Inside.
* There may be other tasks but we will discuss these with you first.
* To support in planning and conducting mentoring and behaviour support sessions 1:1 (mentors only)
* To support delivery of planned SEAL group sessions (mentors only)
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
* Enthusiasm
* Good communication skills
* Able to work well in a team
* Experience of working/volunteering with children.
* An understanding of equal opportunities.


Desirable
* To be able to observe and identify the needs of children and to take the initiative
* Record keeping skills
* Relevant, practical playwork/ leisure skills/mentoring experience
* Relevant childcare qualification especially with additional needs
* Current first aid certificate
* Car driver
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures for children and young people
