Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a Director to join the board of Notts & Lincs Credit Union, who can bring his/her own experience and voice to help us make further progress in serving our current and future members as we move forward. The Board is entirely voluntary.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Notts & Lincs Credit Union is a community and payroll savings and loans co-operative set up to support people to become more financially resilient across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. It currently has c 13,000 Members
The role of a Credit Union Director is to help shape its strategic direction as well as ensure that it maintains a sound financial state and operates within the law, the rules and the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
We are seeking an Assistant Treasurer, working with the current Treasurer, to take on this senior role in the future. This will be a “hands-on” role and will require an understanding of the Credit Union’s accounting system. The Treasurer oversees and presents budgets, accounts and financial statements to the Board as well as working with relevant staff, external auditors and regulators, managing the overall risk appetite of the Credit Union and directing the analysis of the loan portfolio to monitor this.

The Board of Directors, all volunteers, meets monthly (on a Tuesday at 6 pm). There is a requirement to attend the AGM and occasional planning/strategy days as well as the Finance Committee which also meets once a month.
