Local sight loss charity, My Sight Nottinghamshire has teamed up with Guide Dogs to launch the My Guide scheme, which is looking for volunteer sighted guides in your area.

As a 'My Guide' volunteer you'll be given full training and support to help you become a confident, sighted guide.

When you're ready we'll team you up with a visually-impaired person in your area and together you'll begin the first steps of an amazing and hugely rewarding journey, leading to greater independence and a better quality of life back in the community for them and helping you develop new skills and make new friends.

As a My Guide volunteer you'll spend a few hours a week, for around six months, guiding your visually impaired partner on trips out to local shops, cafes, sports events or other community activities that they would like to get involved in.
