How many places are on offer?
Be a buddy at Jigsaw Youth Club. Whatever your skill level or knowledge the most important thing to us is your time and friendliness, if you think you could spare some time to help us we would be pleased to hear from you.
Jigsaw provides a youth club for young people with Asperger's Syndrome and High Functioning Autism. Our buddies are expected to befriend young people who attend the club and encourage them to take part in activities. Activities include computer gaming, pool, snooker, table tennis, arts & crafts, sports such as football, badminton, basketball. We also do activities and residentials during holiday times. Buddies are expected to be clear thinking and to be able to focus on providing a non-judgmental role model for the young people who attend the club.
The role is important as the majority of the young people who attend the club are seeking friendship and social interaction. We would like our buddies to be able to think outside of the box and have a proactive involvement in programme planning and provision.
