Purpose of Role:
Support with the running of a self-help group for students with mild to moderate eating disorders at Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for volunteers to support our ever expanding Eating Disorders In Student Service (EDISS) project at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham. Our goal is to support students with mild to moderate eating disorders and difficulties.
Our self-help groups are a safe environment for service users, and their friends and carers, to provide support for one another under the direction of a member of staff. Each group is focused on a topic relevant to eating disorder recovery and general mental wellbeing, and closes with a half an hour of social time.
As a volunteer you will welcome service users to the group, and help new attendees to feel relaxed. You will also support the staff member with the running of the group.
