We are looking for volunteers to support our ever expanding Eating Disorders In Student Service (EDISS) project at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham. Our goal is to support students with mild to moderate eating disorders and difficulties.
We are always on the lookout for fundraising and awareness raising opportunities across Nottingham, as we are a charity and rely on donations and fundraising. We also love to spread awareness of eating disorders, and reduce the stigma attached to mental health problems to allow more people to access the support they need.
An awareness raising and fundraising volunteer ensures that our services are highly visible and accessible to those who need them and will increase students' awareness of eating disorders. This may include leaflet or poster drops in GP surgeries and libraries, assisting at information stands or talking to groups of students about what eating disorders are and how First Steps can help. You would also be responsible for planning new and exciting fundraising techniques, and executing these yourself where possible.
