Purpose of Role:
Our volunteers act as supporters at our monthly carers support groups. Our groups welcome unpaid carers giving them access to a qualified support worker and a relaxed atmosphere enabling them to chat freely talk and make new friends. Guest speakers are welcomed to provide essential information and training for unpaid carers.
Our volunteers ensure everyone feels welcomed and involved. You may be required to assist the support worker to set up and clear away, offer refreshments and a friendly listening ear building good relationships encouraging unpaid carers to take time for themselves and take care of their own health and wellbeing. Our volunteers are an essential part of our team.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to support our monthly Carers support groups alongside our Carers Hub support staff.
You will interact with carers of all ages and disabilities ensuring they feel welcomed and involved, help set up the venue, welcome people, serve drinks and assist to facilitate activities.
The groups are an informal setting for carers to share experiences, support each other, gain knowledge, friendships and feel valued.
There may be visiting health professional to speak to the group on relevant subjects enabling carers to gain knowledge and ask questions. All carers need to have their chance to speak and be heard.
