How many places are on offer?
Code Clubs perfectly complement the new UK computing curriculum, and give children the opportunity to gain skills and confidence in digital making through a weekly extra-curricular activity.
Code Club leads a community of volunteers who share their passion for digital code-making with children and teachers across the UK.
We create resources aimed at children aged 9 - 11 for volunteers to use in weekly Code Clubs in their local area.
Our website www.codeclub.org.uk is full of more information about what we do.
Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in sharing their coding and digital skills with the next generation.
We will provide the following support:
Guidance through your DBS check
Great projects for the children, which are step-by-step guides for creating games, animations and websites
Free online or face to face training sessions to get you started
Meet-ups in your area so you can connect with other volunteers and swap tips
Regular newsletters to keep you up-to-date with information about the Code Club network and activities happening in your local area
You’ll play a key part in helping children gain skills that are useful to them - not only learning to program, but also learning about computational thinking, problem solving, planning, designing and collaboration
