ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Our summer reading challenge is back and we need your help to make it successful! We are recruiting volunteers to help with the delivery of our
summer programme and to assist with our amazing activities.
For this year’s Challenge, the theme is ‘Gadgeteers’, and will inspire children to use their curiosity and creativity to discover the science behind the every day, and celebrate the role of the imagination in both reading and the sciences. We challenge all children to read 6 books over the holidays giving out prizes, and stickers along the way. Rewards also include a medal ceremony and certificate if they complete the challenge. There are lots of different activities to get involved with too, with something happening at every Nottingham City library each week of the school holidays throughout August.
We are looking for volunteers who are good at working with children and who are passionate about reading. Some of the roles involve signing children up for the challenge and helping them choose their next book if they need assistance. You will also have a chance to help with general arts & craft activities, artist events, and more. If you'd like to volunteer, we invite you to attend one of our open days to find out more. If you can't attend please get in touch and we can arrange an alternative time.

Wednesday, June 22, Dales Centre Library 2-4 pm
Friday, June 24, Wollaton Library 4-6 pm
