Purpose of Role:

Join ArtSpeak as a creative workshop assistant and help make a difference to local communities through our work to prevent isolation and loneliness. Share, develop, learn new skills and meet new people in this outreach programme for people aged 60+.


Role Description:

We have several volunteering opportunities available within the programme and are currently looking for personable and friendly individuals to join our team of volunteers and work as Gallery Walkthrough or Creative Workshop Assistants.

The role would suit anyone who has an interest in different aspects of the arts and likes meeting new people. As a volunteer you will be the first point of contact for all participants who come along to the gallery walkthrough or workshop. The responsibilities of the role will cover: working collaboratively with other volunteers, ArtSpeak Ambassadors and venue staff. Assisting participants and supporting visiting workshop facilitators and Artists where applicable. As a volunteer you’ll also be required to register participants attendance, ensuring all the correct details are on their membership file and updating them if required. This will also involve signing up new members. Therefore, you must be computer literate and be sensitive to collecting personal data.

Volunteers might also be asked to photograph the event and will need to ensure that photo consent has been given by the participants.

When Required: Various – mostly Monday afternoons, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
