Purpose of Role:
Love music, films or gaming? We’re looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers to help sort, price and display our wide range of donated CDs, DVDs and games in our shop. This is a flexible opportunity to share your love of music or film or to get a taster of a career in retail and you'll be helping the British Heart Foundation beat heartbreak forever.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Say hello to the team
Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. Last year our British Heart Foundation UK charity shops across the UK raised an incredible £28 million – this wouldn’t have been possible without our fantastic volunteers.
Our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life.
Typical tasks include:
· Keeping our music and entertainment department fully stocked and organised out the back and on the shop floor
· Sorting out donations of CDs, DVDs and games and checking discs for scratches, recycling those that are damaged
· Following our guidelines to value and price donated CDs, DVDs and games
You get a lot from volunteering too:
· A chance to work in a friendly team, to make new friends and meet a diverse group of people
· The opportunity to make an invaluable contribution to British Heart Foundation goal of beating heartbreak forever
· The time to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills
· The ability to gain valuable work experience to add onto your CV and to learn new skills
