Purpose of Role:
We are now recruiting volunteers to help extend our reach through building relations with English Football League clubs across the Midlands & East region.

We are looking to build a powerful network of support at over 20 EFL clubs in the region. We want to have conversations with football fans to raise awareness of diabetes and our work, and need your support to make change happen.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The role of the English Football League (EFL) Diabetes Champion will build on our links with English Football League clubs in the region, ensuring that our relationships are positive, relevant, and benefit everyone. You will ensure that the club is kept fully informed of our work locally and are given the opportunity to contribute to this work.

What you will be doing
Build/maintain relationships with key people at EFL clubs in your area.
Share regular updates on our work with EFL clubs, by attending meetings, emailing bulletins, newsletters etc.
Help to plan and attend awareness raising events and/or fundraising on matchdays.
Represent Diabetes UK at any health and wellbeing events that are created with or hosted by the EFL club in your area
Explore opportunities for raising awareness of Diabetes UK campaigns, membership and/or the benefits of peer support within the club.
Keep the regional team updated on your activity and the work of the EFL club(s) in your area.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Enthusiastic about helping us to get our key messages into the community.
Enjoy meeting new people and happy to volunteer as part of a team.
Open to ideas about how we could build on the project to maximise the impact of our work.
An interest in football could be useful but is not essential.
