Purpose of Role:
SFiCE Foundation has a social cafe which provides free 2-course meals every Tuesday and Thursday to a range of people in food poverty.
The charity requires cafe volunteers to support delivery of this project, Tuesday's and Thursday's between 12pm and 5pm in St. Ann's, Nottingham

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
TASKS INCLUDE:
Using donated food items to create around 50 two-course meals per session.
Preparing, cooking, and boxing up meals.
Setting up the tables and equipment being used
Cleaning and chopping fruits and vegetables
Preparing Foodbank parcels
Wiping down tables and surfaces
Dishwashing
Sweeping the floor
Other reasonable tasks within the cafe environment
This would suit you if you are looking to help the vulnerable and give back to society, gain experience to enable you to get a paid job, refresh your skills after being out of work for some time and including retired people who would like to contribute their skills and meet new people and make new friends.

Ability to work as part of a team
Communication skills
Willingness to interact with customers
Basic awareness of food hygiene and health and safety would be beneficial
Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure during very busy times
Catering experience would be useful
