Nottingham City Homes - Promenade Heritage ProjectLocation(s): St Ann's
Address where volunteering takes place: The Promenade, Campbell Grove and Robin Hood Terrace St AnnsNottingham NG3 1HBHow many places are on offer? Several
Purpose of Role:
The Promenade Heritage Project is looking for volunteers to help capture the oral histories of past and present residents of The Promenade, Campbell Grove and Robin Hood Terrace in Nottingham. This important group of house has a fascinating story to tell and Nottingham City Homes has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to research the history of the houses, and the people who lived in them and provide a series of free events.
We are currently looking for a team of volunteers who would like to help us record stories of people who have lived or still live in the area. These recordings will then be deposited at East Midlands Oral History Archive (EMOHA) and an edited version produced in a free publication. To help us do this, the following training day for volunteers has been created:
Oral History Training Day- Wednesday, 12th May 2021.
Volunteers can attend either a morning (10am–1pm) or afternoon session (2pm–5pm).
Due to current rules on social distancing, the training will be held via Zoom.
This session aims to give volunteers the necessary training in technique and technology and will be delivered by Helen Foster from EMOHA.
