How many places are on offer?
The Mediation Partnership is looking for volunteers who are interested in becoming involved with our project, a partnership between Citizens Advice Broxtowe, Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and Broxtowe Borough Council.
We provide a mediation service for all residents within the Broxtowe Borough Council Area. We offer mediation for the following:
● Neighbour mediation - disputes between neighbours about boundaries, noise levels, parking, pets or other environmental issues.
● Community mediation- disputes involving groups within communities
● Anti-social behaviour
● Family disputes
We’d like to recruit volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds. You may be interested in adding a new element to your personal or professional development or are considering beginning a new career in mediation and would appreciate an opportunity to develop the necessary skills. If you are a good listener, can communicate clearly and effectively, have some spare time to offer and are interested in finding out more or attending an online introduction
All suitable volunteers will receive training and support through supervision and co-mediation activities led by the project mediation coordinator.
The project mediators are accredited by UK Mediation and all partners work to data protection standards set out by the ICO.
Skills and Qualifications:
Volunteers do not need any formal training or qualifications in mediation as we will provide you with these but experience of working cosely with people, in areas such as customer services, community support settings, the NHS, public services, business or education would be useful.
This grid shows when you can volunteer for this opportunity.
We will try to respond to volunteer enquiries within one week
