Purpose of Role:
To uphold the values, objectives and policies of the Group and be collectively responsible for directing the successful operation of Nottingham City Homes Ltd.
Commitment: Up to one day/month

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Our Board and Committee members advise and support the executive team, bringing a range of different experiences, professional backgrounds and skill sets to this vital work.
We now have vacancies for Non-Executive Directors as follows:
Group Board Members – Leadership and strategic direction of the Group, including setting corporate strategy and objectives.
ALMO Board Members – Supporting our resident-led ALMO Board which is responsible for overseeing the management of the homes we manage.
Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee Members – Financial control, risk management and compliance across the Group
Registered Provider Board Members – Developing and managing social housing initiatives in line with regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities:
To make sure the values and objectives of the Group are honoured and that policies and plans exist to achieve those objectives.
To make sure that the Group’s affairs are conducted decently and lawfully through the framework of delegation and systems of internal control.
To monitor the Group’s performance in relation to its plans, budgets, controls and decisions in line with appropriate standards and Code of Conduct.
To make sure that the Group’s functions comply with its own constitution, Financial Regulations and Standing Orders and the Regulatory Code.
Attend and contribute at Board and Committee meetings, bringing a specific community or other local perspective, skill or professional expertise.
To respect and preserve the confidentiality of organisation business and where necessary declare any relevant interests.
To commit the necessary time to represent the organisation, attend conferences and training and support staff.
To undertake any other functions consistent with the role of Board or Committee Member allocated by the Chair of the organisation or the Board.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
If you have an enquiring mind, a commitment to the principles of public life and the ability to help drive us forward, we’d like to hear from you. We’d particularly like to encourage interest from those with knowledge and expertise of strategic risk management, compliance, housing and estate management, housing development, communities and regeneration and repairs, and we believe that greater diversity on our board increases our effectiveness.
