Brain injury identification and intervention in substance use services

Part of a new Practice Development Unit (PDU) online learning series where practitioners can develop their understanding of neurodivergence in the context of severe and multiple disadvantage (SMD). This session will be delivered by Anna Tickle and Natasha Bloor, based on their work with Nottingham Recovery Network.

 

The webinar will focus on a six-month brain injury identification and screening pilot within Nottingham Recovery Network. It will cover:

  • The evidence base for the relationship between brain injury and substance use
  • The complexities of co-existing difficulties
  • Increasing staff awareness through training
  • Learning from those referred and seen
  • Longer-term hopes for developing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for brain injury within substance use services.
