The Nottingham CIty Place-Based Partnership has acknowledged that structural racism has played a part in increasing health inequalities, poor health outcomes and poor access to services for Nottingham’s Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
The intended audience for this event is Health, Local Authority and Voluntary Sector Leaders working within the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, with a primary interest in the city's health inequalities.
Join the summit where we aim to agree practical and measurable solutions to issues that have significantly impacted Nottingham's communities for generations.
Thursday 11 May 2023 (10am to 3pm) at The Indian Community Centre Association (ICCA), Hucknall Road, Nottingham NG5 1QZ. Registration is from 9.30am for a 10am start. Refreshments and lunch provided.
Nottingham is home to rich and wonderful diversity but it also has some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country, with health inequalities felt by many communities, particularly minority ethnic communities.
The 2021 census shows that in the last 10 years the proportion of people from Black, Asian and minority ethnicities in Nottingham has increased from 35% to 42.7% of the total population and local data shows us that, in these communities, the gap in health inequalities is widening.
By registering for this event you are expressing interest in attending. Please complete all parts of the registration form (including dietary requirements) and commit the date to your calendar. NCVS will confirm places with individuals shortly to ensure that representatives from all sectors and from as many organisations as possible are given the opportunity to participate.
We aim to welcome all. However, should we receive a large number of registrations from a single organisation or department, it may be necessary to limit the number of attendees from that group. Thank you for your understanding.
Voluntary and community organisations only are invited to express interest in reserving a table in the marketplace as part of their registration. NCVS will then contact you to confirm your request.
