Purpose of Role:
To maintain and care forthe plants, to preserve produce and to conserve the garden.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Weeding, sowing, watering, planting, pruning, harvesting, drying, collecting, storing, labelling, recording of plants,flowers and vegetables.
You may take part in building, painting or general maintenance projects. You may prepare plants for sale if we ever have market
stalls.
Weekly volunteer days at the garden run on Wednesdays and Sundays. Feelfree to come along to either days, or both, depending on your availability!
You will be supported by the Garden and Site Manager, by other volunteers in a team and in the training / induction. Volunteers can be
reimbursed for travel expenses and the Roots Out team are approachable if you would like to talk to them or share your ideas.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Attention to detail,the ability to do some repetitive tasks and the ability to follow instructions. Existing plant knowledge can be useful, and if you love the outdoors / nature, but it is not required as you will receive
support and demonstrations.
Willingness to get your hands dirty, including when some gardening work can be physically demanding.
