The role of NCVS

Nottingham Council for Voluntary Services (NCVS) is an umbrella organisation that supports the voluntary and community sector in Nottingham.

Established in 1875, we work with our diverse communities to make positive differences to people's lives. We offer information, advice, support, training and a range of other different services to a vast collection of voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals in the city.

We aim to:

  • Enable groups in our diverse and successful community and voluntary sector to complete their goals
  • Enable individuals to be involved in their community and to benefit as a result
  • Involve the community and voluntary sector in important issues and give them a strong voice in strategic partnerships and planning processes.

We join the Big Sleep Out

    Big sleep out

On 3 December our vinvolved Youth Action Team took part in Framework’s Big Sleep Out.

Donning woolly hats, gloves and thick sleeping bags, the team and NCVS staff spent the night sleeping outside to raise awareness of the plight of homeless people in winter.

The team joined 150 people including Trent FM’s Twiggy and Emma in Hyson Green and helped to raise over £14,000 for Framework.
