Purpose of Role:

Just 3 hours a week volunteering at the charity shop and you never know what you might find yourself doing!Contribute your skills as well as gaining new ones. The charity shop supports the Aegis Trust who work to protect against genocide.

Role Description:

For just 3 hours a week volunteers can contribute their skills and gain new ones by getting involved in a broad range of activities that could lead to new interests, meeting new people and maybe even a new career path.

You may find yourself sorting through vintage treasures and designer donations, or making eye-catching window displays.

Shop Assisting - Serving customers, tagging, steaming and hanging stock to go out on the shop floor and ensuring that the shop is always clean and tidy.

Visual Merchandising - Creating eye catching window displays and visually appealing ways to showcase our stock.

Seamstressing - Working on fixing or embellishing garments or even creating collections that could be sold in store.

Events coordinating - Coming up with exciting events ideas and creating the posters and coordinating events to increase customers and donations.

Social Media Curating - creating engaging posts that capture the interest of our followers on social media.

Whatever interests you have, let us know and we can see if there is something you would like to get involved in or maybe you want to try a bit of everything.

Skills and Qualifications:

Everyone is welcome to apply to volunteer. No particular skills or qualification are needed.

The premises of the charity shop do not make it easy for people in wheelchairs to volunteer eg stock room is up stairs and shop space is small. However we are very happy to find other volunteer work that may not be in the shop.
