We are looking for volunteers to support our ever expanding Eating Disorders In Student Service (EDISS) project at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham. Our goal is to support students with mild to moderate eating disorders and difficulties.
Our drop-ins provide a safe place for service users to come and meet other service users, volunteers and staff to discuss what they're struggling with, find out more about our support options and have a friendly chat.
As a volunteer you will provide a friendly face at the drop-in, and listen to service users discussing what they've been struggling with and inform them of the support options EDISS can provide.
Skills and Qualifications:
For this role, you will need:
Confidence in talking to other people
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about eating disorders
Recognition of the importance of confidentiality
You will have the opportunity to develop:
First-hand experience of supporting people with mental health problems
Excellent experience for your CV
