Purpose of Role:
This is an administration and support role that will support a very successful community owned leisure centre to support young people to learn to swim and be confident in water.

The Swim School has over 400 learners and also provides classes for schools. We operate from 3 different pools, with the majority coming to our Lenton site.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
When all the pupils arrive, along with their parents or school teachers, the centre is very busy. In between lessons, there are also queries from new and existing customers. This role will support a very busy organisation through:

• Preparing for lessons, ensuring all equipment is in good working order and available for the teachers to use, then packing away at the end of lessons
• Taking general enquiries while lessons are operating
• Taking payments for lessons and merchandise
• Answering calls
• Preparing registers for the teachers and carrying out general administrative duties using our management system
• Preparing letters and other communications to customers
• Updating noticeboards

You will receive excellent induction and training that will cover
• Customer service training
• Till training
• IT systems training
• Safeguarding training

In addition you will get
• Experience in leisure, community work and charity / social enterprise sectors
• Will be assigned a mentor / supervisor and receive monthly reviews against objectives
• Possibility to work towards level 1 teaching assistant qualification

• You will be part of a great team of people involved in a fun activity, but with a very serious purpose.
• You will make a significant difference to the smooth running of your sessions which will improve the learning by the participants
• You will be able to use your great people skills as well as refreshing, or gaining new admin skills
• You will be able to develop your volunteer role to take on as much, or as little, responsibility as you would like.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Customer service skills
• Attention to detail and quality focused
• Excellent IT skills, good with Excel and Word
