Small grants available for struggling small charities

The Small Charities Coalition has been awarded £50,000 from the Betty Messenger Charitable Foundation to make small grants available to charities that are temporarily struggling, but otherwise viable.

Small grants of between £100 to £1,000 are available to small, registered charities, which are primarily UK-based, with an annual income of under £1 million. In order to be eligible to apply, organisations must also have been established for at least one year and must be able to produce either independently examined or management accounts.

Applications are welcome from anyone involved with your organisation, trustees, volunteers or staff.

The programme's particular areas of interest include:

  • Care of those suffering from a disease
  • Caring in the community for disabled and people on the margin
  • End of life
  • Education
  • Interfaith projects with a focus engendering tolerance and breaking down prejudice
  • Medical projects

This is a rolling programme - the deadline for applications is the 20th of each month.
