RideWise, Nottingham’s local environmental charity, is proud to be part of the national Thank You Day, running this Sunday (4 July), supported by Virgin Media O2.
RideWise and 400 other charities in England will be saying ‘thank you’ to their communities and coming together to support kinder, closer neighbourhoods.
Big Bike Bonanza
As part of this, RideWise are appealing for people to join them at Lenton Abbey Park, between 10am and 2pm on Sunday (4 July 2021), for their Big Bike Bonanza. Meet the RideWise volunteers, donate unwanted bikes or browse their selection of preloved refurbished bikes, at low community prices. All proceeds from bike sales go towards refurbishing bikes for the free RideWise community Bike Library.
Over 600 bikes have been donated so far, and each bike transforms a life – helping keyworkers, teachers, supermarket workers, doctors, volunteers and so many other people – in getting around safely, easily and with the least impact to the environment.
The Virgin Media O2 Together Fund is a nationwide initiative forming part of the company’s support for the Together Coalition. Virgin Media O2 is providing £1,000 grants for environmental and community projects which champion and celebrate community spirit, belonging and togetherness. Four hundred community based charities will receive funding which will be distributed by Neighbourly ahead of ‘Thank You Day’ on Sunday 4 July.
